DIMENSIONS 37
Dimensions is the yearly student produced journal at the University of Michigan complete with a set of expectations, list of projects, group of fellows and obligation to represent the school in some way. I functioned as a member of the design group, an interviewer and one of the team leads for the thirteen of us. This is a nice prompt because you get to argue about fonts and margins and speak to the architects you read about.
The book is covered with a last minute overlaid image of plastic wrapping on a pink background. The paper is thin and resembles a newspaper about architecture with cartoonish drawings. The exercise in style argues for the value of printing books in a world of screens and videos. It is a loose collection of projects that are supported by the tentpoles of the four included interviews. The last page is a rectangle, or a plan of Central Park.
