Here is my first Architecture Project. The house is one that never really got completed, was held in distinct contempt at final review, and as you can see, is best represented by the model being stomped out as if it were a rogue bug crawling across the kitchen floor. However, many of the lessons I learnt through designing this house have been essential to my development as an architect. Ideas of light diffusion, monumentality, and tectonic stacking as means of humanizing a built form.
This is a house that takes outside nature and attempts to put it in a box. There is one idea - the large central void surrounded by rooms and seperated through staircase. The plan inverts the precedent Casa Poli by Pezo von Ellrichshausen while keeping the same material sentiment in order to adapt to an urban context. It’s a box with a hole.
